Harry Koyama, a lifelong resident of Hardin, Montana, was born in 1949 and has always had an interest in art. After graduating from Hardin High School in 1967, he began his formal art training at Montana State University - Billings receiving a bachelors degree in art in 1972. Sice that time Harry's welded steel sculpture of western and wildlife themes has twice received the Harry Jackson sculpture award and has been shown and collected across the western United States including a one man show at the University of Minnesota. Harry has recently turned to oil painting as another means of artistic expression and has found an affinity to an impressionistic style of painting, and like his sculpture, his paintings reflect an attraction to the use of interesting texture. |
