Steven Kuennen was born on October 23, 1957 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. At a very young age, his family migrated to the state of Montana where he attended schools and graduated from Bozeman Senior High School. Steven Kuennen has lived in various areas throughout southwest Montana, Wyoming, and California. Collegiate studies included from 1979 to 1981 at Montana State University in Bozeman and then from 1982 to 1983 at the University of Washington. A Bachelor of Fine Arts resulted from 1999 to 2001 at the Art Center School of Design graduating with distinction in illustration. As a student he was awarded a full scholarship, and was given the opportunity to teach at the Art Center. A Masters of Fine Art was then received from the California State University in Long Beach, California with an emphasis in Printmaking. Steven has worked as an illustrator for more than twenty years. His work specializes in portraiture, printmaking, and contemporary western art. Steven Kuennen currently lives in Billings, Montana.
