| Tom Waugh was born on February 14, 1948, in Deadwood, South Dakota. He was basically raised in the Black Hills area from Devills Tower, Wyoming to Hot Springs, South Dakota. After graduating from high school, he briefly attended a teacher's college and lived in Hot Springs, South Dakota, until 1978. He moved back to his family ranch near Devils Tower, Wyoming. After being a policeman for fifteen years total, the family ranch was a welcome sight after working on the railroad for a couple of years. Quitting society, he built his own log cabin and started painting fulltime in 1985. His primary medium is oil and occasionally will do a bronze or an etching. | ||
