Ernest Chiriacka (1913-2010)
Ernest Chiriacka was born in New York City in 1920. While he did illustrations for publications such as the Saturday Evening Post, Esquire, and Cosmopolitan, he developed a deep interest in the North American Indian and other figures from the history of the American West. He received his earliest art training at the Art Students League in New York. He later enrolled in the National Academy of Design Art School and the Grand Central School of Art in New York City. He began his career in illustrating for national magazines and then went full time into his passion of Western Art.
